The working principle of the screw conveyor is to use the rotating spiral blades to move the material for transportation. Specifically, the material is added from the inlet to the feed end of the screw conveyor, where it is lifted by gravity and centrifugal force. When the material reaches a certain height, its gravity makes the material move inward, and at the same time, centrifugal force makes the material move outward. Under the rotation of the spiral blades, the material moves forward along the spiral shaft, so as to achieve the purpose of conveying. During operation, the internal friction of the material and the frictional resistance between the material and the casing rotate the spiral blades and push the material forward.
When the screw conveyor conveys the material, the material is mainly affected by the following forces:
Gravity: The gravity of the material itself will cause it to slide downward.
Thrust effect of spiral blades: When the spiral blades rotate, they will produce thrust force on the material, so that the material moves forward along the spiral axis.
Friction: Friction will occur between the material and the spiral blades and between the material and the casing, which will affect the movement of the material.
The combined effect of these forces makes the material stably conveyed in the screw conveyor.
